Hi,
I have serious pronation problem (i think), can anyone confirm if i am a underpronator?

The area I circle in red is the wore out area of my outsole. I believe the normal ones will wear out at the area i circle in blue.

Any advise?

Yew,

Wow. That's defintely under-pronate. Either you change your running posture or explore different pairs of running shoe.

Good Luck!

i have been looking for only cushioned shoe.

I tried consiously changing my "striking" and "rolling action" but once i m tire, i will go back to the normal posture, thus i think looking for the correct shoe is the only option i have at this moment.

There's the other school of thought that said that the feet (as different as you and my face!) should be allowed to pronate/stranate/what-ever nate as they like.

This is in constrast to the traditional school that said that feet should not wobble. hence they advocate really tight/support-like shoes.

I tend to follow the earlier thought. I think only in EXTREME cases, then you got to let the shoes 'control' your feet. but in most cases, i think the feet should be allowed to do what they do. After all, that's how you run & are born with it. (of course, running efficiently is another matter that you may wish to pursue)

Hmm, looks like there are a couple of underpronators here. I also wear out my shoe on the outerside. I guess in a way we're the lucky ones coz at least we don't overpronote blink.gif

Am I making sense? wacko.gif

Yew may not be a underpronator. Underpronator usually roll outwards when they toe-off. What I think could be that he is a heelstriker who land on the lateral side. He could still be an overpronator or having a neutral toe off. Have to see the way he run to determine that.

I find that adidas have a couple of model that have beefed up adiprene in that outside heel area. This usually have cushion the initial impact of the heelstrike.

There are not many underpronation shoes but usually a good cushion shoe for neutral gait should do the job.

It will be quite hard to change the way you run but getting the right shoes or in the worst case, getting orthotics should help with this problem.

Highly recommend them. I now have two pairs and they have been really good (no blisters even when wet and without socks). They are 'Axiom' and 'Racer ST'.

Hi, you might want to check out a neutral local party on shoe selection for your foot type by the Singapore Sports Council at this URL:

Agreed with that posibility else the shoe size is a little to small. Did you purchase the shoe just at the right size. Do get one that is half an inch-larger. here a link regarding tieing of laces.
Check out these sites as well:

Wildcat: that's a good guide as well. Excellent resource.
